Cheap Way to Clean Your Brushes!

Lately I've been looking for a good brush cleaner that would thoroughly clean the brush off makeup but also condition them. :) I've tried Ellana's brush cleaner but I end up using a lot of cotton/tissue when cleaning my brushes =_= I've thought of using olive oil and dishwashing liquid but I thought it was a wee bit expensive than the alternative I used.

I've seen some YouTube gurus who use the same brand in cleaning their brushes, it's Jonhson & Johnson's Baby Soft & Shiny Shampoo. ^^ The variant I chose (there are 2, I think) was the one with extra conditioning. I bought it at around Php140 (approx. $3).
It says, "extra softness for toddlers.. with conditioning, honey and wheatgerm essences" so I guess it will condition the brushes as well :D Read on to see how it removed the makeup on some of my brushes :D

I used a small amount, about the size of a peso coin. :)
I'm not that fond of the smell, it has a fruity smell, but I can do away with it :P

The glitters it removed really looks pretty ~ lol

How do you clean your brushes? :D or have you tried this product before?

  4. Mwah! Thanks dear. Naomi already shared this info with me (really she's the one with all the makeup know how but still doesn't blog.. tsk tsk.. I'm convincing her to get into the scene but well she's pretty busy with other things pa. hehe) but I haven't really tried it out. Your "demo/tutorial" does help though. What is the scent of the other variant? Hmmm this J&J Shampoo is going on my "next thing to buy" list. :)

  15. Wow, just like ate Diane does! <3 I think using it as it is (w/out water) would get rid of the makeup and will rinse away more product when you begin to wash off the shampoo from the brushes :P Thank you for reading my post! <3

  16. You should try it! :D It conditions the hair bristles too! :"> One of my readers told me that she uses soap before and end up with "not so soft" brush hairs after some time :D I think conditioning them too, is important as to keep it gentle when it comes in touch with your face XD

  17. Hahaha :)) I think that's okay just as long as you condition them afterwards! :D You may end up with stiffer brush hair >.< Just an advice :D Thank you for following me <3 *hugs*

  21. I BOUGHT IT! I went shopping at Landmark Trinoma and found a smaller bottle for less than Php 50. My brushes badly need cleaning and this is a lifesaver. I remembered this post which is why I really made sure to buy it. I couldn't remember what you bought exactly but I remembered you said it smelled fruity so I bought the fruity one.
